Jet is a fossilised tree (180 million years old) When the trees died and fell into swamps and rivers, over time they became compressed and with chemical changes, it became jet.Jet was adorned by the Romans and was said to be good for rheumatism just as copper is today.
Jet continues to be very popular today and because it is not a stone and therefore very light, it is so comfortable to wear.
